Stage 1 – Laying the foundations
Through interactive, collaborative and engaging tasks, teachers will be able to review, consolidate and extend their knowledge of key issues related to English language and learning. They will write a detailed class profile, identify appropriate aims for a given lesson and select effective classroom management techniques to boost learner’s engagement. Attention will be paid to Second Language Acquisition, (in particular Krashen’s 5 hypothesis); to learner characteristics: age, maturity, attitude, learning styles, etc. and to different types of learner motivation (intrinsic and extrinsic).
